While this is my shortest release to date (in terms of number of songs), this EP took longer to make than any of my other recordings. These four songs were written (and rewritten) between 2015 and 2018. Recording started with Noel White in March of 2019 at Hudson Street Sound and continued into the spring, during which time drums, bass, keyboards, and most guitars were completed. Noel subsequently departed for tour (and moved out of state). I recorded vocals, some minor synth parts, and guitar edits at home during the summer of 2019. In February of 2020 I wrote string arrangements for two of the songs, and recorded them with Ahren Buchheister. By means of dozens of phone calls and emails, Noel and I finished mixing the songs between April and July. The first single, Times of Trouble, was released on July 3rd, 2020.
Music and lyrics written and arranged by Tobias Russell.
Produced by Noel White and T. Russell.
Recorded by N. White at Hudson Street Sound in Annapolis, MD and mixed/mastered by N. White at Raleigh Remote Recording.
*Strings (tracks 2 and 3) arranged by T. Russell and recorded by Ahren Buchheister in Arnold, MD.
**All vocals and some guitars/synths (tracks 1 and 2) recorded by T. Russell in Annapolis, MD.
